The NSS units No. 190 & No. 191 of Sree Krishna College have always played a very active role in moulding social awareness and service mindedness among the students. The sevenday NSS special annual camp is truly the highlight of its activities. The camp focuses on nurturing social commitment and instilling the values of community life. The units have, on a regular basis, conducted blood donation camps, organized charity activities, donated money for pain and palliative care and campaigned actively against drugs and use of tobacco. Its volunteers have been selected to attend the prestigious Republic day Parade Camps in the previous years. The annual Tri - Master Quiz competition was conducted as a state - level Inter- collegiate competition in 2018. The cleaning activities conducted by the units inside and outside the campus especially under the Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan vouches for its primary objective of service.Significant days like The World Environment Day, Anti-Plastic Carry-Bag Day,World Day Against Child Labour, World Yoga Day are observed by the college N.S.S Units by organizing various programmes.The units have set up ‘Vayana Kavala’,a reading corner in the local bus waiting shed for the sake of the public.They have also Joined hands with "Athazhakootam’’ a charity organization to distribute food packets on a regular basis to the poor and needy of the locality. Aptly called "Annapoorna" this venture has attracted a hugely enthusiastic response from the staff and students . organic farming has been taken up by the NSS units. The units have adopted 16 wards in Kandanassery Gramma Panchayath and the ''Aarogya Jagratha'' Scheme of the Government of Kerala is being implemented there to foster awarness of good health.Other programmes and rallies to promot waste management and fight drug abuse are also conducted regularly in the Panchayath. Dr. K.M. Manu of the Physics Department & Prof. E. Sreelatha of the Malayalam Department are the co - ordinators of the units The units have 100 volunteers each .
